Improve SAPGUI - Stop hiding "Create Session" during hourglass / sandclock

Hi SAP-Experts & SAPGUI-developers,

 

SAPGUI offers several options to create a new session:

1) Menu: System-->Create Session

So far - so good.

 

But - Why is only the last option working, even when the sandclock / hourglass is running?

 

This behaviour is not user-friendly.

Why is this feature hidden that way?

 

I do have some kind of understanding that "Stop Transaction" is hidden, so that only experienced SAP-users know about this feature.

 

But "Create Session"?

 

I don't want to explain this hidden feature to all of our SAP-users anymore.

 

SAPGUI should have a more consistent behaviour.

It guess, it will be impossible to use Option 1) Menu: System-->Create Session during hourglass/sandclock.

But at least it should be possible to change 2) SAPGUI-Button

to be always active - like 3).

 

 

Question to all of you: How do you think about "Stop hiding this feature"?

Error saving the document to a temporary file

Hi there,

we always get the error: "Error saving the document to a temporary file / Message no. SOFFICEINTEGRATION170" when we open a text editor in SAP. (Office editor)

Example: PFTS -> Standard task: 90100091 -> Description and then view the description with the text editor.

We have installed Microsoft Office 2013 Standard.
SAP GUI 740 PL 5 Hotfix 2

When I start the SAP GUI with an admin user everything works fine.

Do you know anything about this error and how we can solve it?

Personas 3.0: Personas url in NWBC for html(ver 3.5) does not open the UI

Hi Personas experts,

 

I made a personas app, and set the relative url in "Web Address or file" node in a PFCG role. Then I tried to launch the app from SAPGUI>NWBC>myApp (which is NWBC for HTML v3.5), but the personas UI did not appear. However, it works fine in NWBC for Desktop v5.0.

 

Anyone know a workround for this? I saw someone made a bit change of url and it worked in NWBC for HTML but I cannot rmember how it was done.

We have Implemented Personas 3.0 in all clients since the latest technical upgrade we have issues

we have upgraded with the SAP technical we call it T07 Personas is behaving differently than it did before the upgrade.  such as once you go into the flavor and execute say VA03 and the hit the green arrow back to get to the main flavor screen as it did before.  Noting happens so I refresh the screen and it dumps me back to the original screen?  I can't find any notes for this issue. am I doing things correctly?

Personas log off through Net weaver not really logging us out

once we have logged onto SAP through the net Weaver GUI and then log off through SAP logoff process if we are to go back to the URL to log on once again we are immediately put into the SAP session we just logged off from, not allowing us to  log into a different client until the URL times out.  after we applied the note we are at least able to use a different URL to log into SAP.  Any insight you have on this situation

How to stop Personas being bypassed with direct t-code calls using the NWBC search bar?

We are trying to lock the sales system down so that the only way in is via Personas but if the user types in VA01 for instance into the NWBC search bar they can call the transaction directly. Is there anyway of closing this avenue off to the end users?

Personas icon on SAP GUI for Windows

Our system is 7.4 and I've SAP GUI version 7.4 patch level 7. When I launch personas through browser, I see the 'P' button. But I don;t see that on GUI for Windows. Do I have to activate any other service for this?

Document print preview shows a blank screen with Personas 2.0 on desktop

Dear Experts,

 

I am calling a custom invoice print/PDF download transaction through a button on a flavor screen using SAP Screen Personas 2.0. This custom transaction enables me to view the invoice first in print preview mode and further allows me to download it as a PDF.

 

I had no problems with both functionalities on a laptop. However, the preview shows a blank screen on a desktop accessing the Personas link. There is no issue whatsoever with the PDF download, just with the print preview. Initially thought that this might be because some time was being taken before the screen is loaded. The preview screen does not load at all.

 

I have observed this issue only while accessing Personas link on desktop. Has anyone ever faced such an issue? If so, is there any specific setting to be done for desktops?

Can we move flavor from one tcode to another..?

Hi,

 

I have created a custom transcation zsmen in SAP by copying smen transcation ( SAP Easy access screen) . Now when i create a flavor in smen , can i move the flavor to zsmen tcode. Is that possible.

Personas - Labels being cleared after most recent Note implementation

This thread was started in reference to comments located here:

It is happening with all buttons on all screens now.  However, upon further investigation, it is only clearing out labels.  Textboxes remain unchanged.

 

If a button runs a transaction behind the scenes without leaving the cockpit, when it is finished executing, all output labels are reset to empty.

 

In the following video, there is a label that is hiding fields in that large blank area.  When I click the GO button, nothing happens because GO checks for errors before any transactions are run.

 

But when I click the Search Button, the xk03 transaction is run in the background.  When the script completes, data is returned to the three output labels within the Vendor Lookup group box, but all other labels are cleared, including the label hiding all the fields.

 

Again I click GO and nothing changes because no transaction is executed.

 

When I click Run Report - the ZPROP report is run and errors are returned to the home screen, and again, all other labels are cleared, but the textboxes are unchanged.

Dropdown list / Combobox in Personas 3 problem

Hi all,

 

I have this problem when adding dropdown list. Setting labels and values is normal ( see pic 1) .q1.PNG

Then in edit mode, I can see the dropdown properly with "two" as an option ( see pic 2 )

But when I save and switch to view mode the dropdown is empty and won't open after clicking. (see pic3 - that's like clicked dropdown looks like there)

Is there some problem in our system, or is there anything that can be done to fix it?

Personas 3.0 tabToelement is ignored in VA01

Hello,

 

I am working on a flavor for VA01 and need to set the tab order in a particular way.  I did so using the tabToelement parameter, but the tab order did not change.  I have had success doing this with other transactions.

 

We are on kernel 742, patch 325.

 

Please advise.

Question on SAP Screen Personas

Hello,

Last week I delivered a KT about SAP Screen Personas on customer site. During the session we have encountered some problems.

Could you please help to answer these questions? The version they installed is Personas 3.0 SP2.

 

1. There's big display issue in SAP GUI for windows

2. One flavor can only be seen in one PC at the same time, even login with the same user ID on another PC

3. After inserting one HTML Viewer to the screen, it cannot be selected by object selector, and it is always on top blocked other controls and cannot be deleted

4. The object selector cannot select some controls but some can in the same screen

5. In /n/personas/admin, display one flavor to view details, but cannot preview that Flavor in the top left corner in display page

6. When assign a Theme to a role, why it is mandatory to fill in a Transaction?

7. If the original screen contains customer field, can we use personas to simply it?

8. If the original screen is a Z program, can we use personas to simly it?

Personas 3.0: Will it be possible to split the screen in Personas?

Hi Personas 3.0 experts,

 

I have a requirement from a UI design, where the screen needs to be split into 3 horizontal zones - the upper zone is used as a "static area" to display the same result from a tcode (eg a work order), the middle zone will hold several buttons, and the lower zone will show the result when a button in the middle zone is pressed (eg, display a table).

 

Does anyone know if that is possible to split the screen in such a manner in Personas 3.0? Thanks.

Personas 2.0: How is the backend language set when using Personas?

Hi Personas experts,

 

I have come across some issues regarding the UI language when running tcodes in Personas apps. As I can see, there are several ways of setting language using Personas (see below) but it is not clear which has higher priority and which can overwirte which.

 

 

 

1. Use url parameter:  &sap-language=EN for personas link

2. User's default backend language setting (ie, SU3)

3. Personas logon (ie when logon Personas, one can specify language)

4. SAPGUI logon (If start Personas url link from inside SAPGUI, when logon to backend, specify the language)

5. SSO using user's PC language setting

6. Personas system setting (ie in SPRO, syetm setting, Sap.Language set to EN)

7. Change language from inside SAPGUI

8. Change language from Personas UI

9. Translate Personas app using the admin tool

 

Can anyone clarify among these language related rules, which overwrite which? Or, as I can see, some do not have effect at all.

 

Most importantly, when we have finished a personas app that is ready for production, which parts above must be set in order to be sure that users will have UI with expected language regardless what language is set in his personal PC.

Search help in Personas 3.0 SP01

Experts

 

Do anyone have worked upon creating a custom search help field in Personas 3.0 sp01?\

I read an article "Using Search Helps - SAP Imagineering - SCN Wiki" that we can create a search "without finding a suitable DDIC reference" by creating z structure.

Do anyone have worked upon this or is there any other methd to include the standard search help?

For reference please refer PA30 transaction , 0208 infotype and "tax area" code field. I want the similar search help for custom field.

It is quite urgent need a help urgently!!!!

SAP GUI for Java 7.40 rev 6 Parameter Pass

Hello All

 

I just download the SAP GUI for Java 7.40 rev 6.

 

I used to save the connection with automatic logon for example: with automatic logon (user = guest, password, secret) and a start transaction (BIBS) in the old one SAP GUI for Java 7.30 rev 9.

 

 

conn=/H/iwdf8997.wdf.sap-ag.de/S/3200&user=guest&pass=secret&tran=BIBS

 

In the New version all the connections are missing the string "pass", even though I modify and insert the parameter manually.

 

I'm using MAC OS  El Capitan 10.11.1

 

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

SAP Screen Personas 3.0 - Update GuiComboBox

For SAP Screen Personas 3.0 I’m trying to dynamically update an existing GuiComboBox

 

The entries is held by a GuiCollection

 

GuiCollection API has a function call add(Object item)

 

When I try to use add() it gives me following error"

 

“oPrivateInstance.aElements.push is not a function”

 

The object I try to set as input-parameter is the element object retrieved from GuiComboBox.entries.elementAt(i);  

 

Example code below:

 

var dropDownObj = session.findById("wnd[0]/usr/subSUB0:SAPLMEGUI:*/cmbPersonas_1458022736755");

var dropDownTargetObj = session.findById("wnd[0]/usr/cmbPersonas_1458268186725");

have been trying to use the

Anybody that has successfully used the GuiCollection.add(Object item) ?
